Representation Agreement
A Representation Agreement is complementary to the Power of Attorney. A Representation Agreement is governed by the Representation Agreement Act, British Columbia. It allows your representative to make health care decisions; if you are incapacitated and no longer able to make these decisions for yourself. Two types of Representation Agreements that a person can create are:
- Section 9 Agreement
- Section 7 Agreement
A Section 9 Representation Agreement allows for broader power. Whether a section 9 or section 7 agreement is appropriate, depends on the state of the individual’s mental health at the time of the agreement. We will be guiding and advising you through it, step by step.
